Celebrating Exceptional Employee Giving with Moment Energy

Moment Energy, a clean tech organization delivering reliable and renewable energy storage solutions, joined us for two eventful days of giving: a day focused on period poverty awareness and putting together menstrual care kits, and a day for assembling grocery packages to provide BC families with rescued groceries over the holidays. These events were part of a curated Giving Calendar facilitated by MeaningfulWork, an initiative that creatively builds giving into employee engagement strategies. Check out this blog post to learn more about how Moment Energy engaged their team in exceptional employee giving through our Giving Calendar!

The Challenge

Moment Energy had challenges with boosting employee engagement, managing the coordination and organization of employee volunteer events and ensuring that they sourced and connected with equity-centred organizations.

The Solution

By using our intuitive online platform, individual employees were able to connect with nonprofits of their interest to engage in:

  • Skill-based and casual volunteering
  • Virtual volunteering
  • Community networking

They were also able to share their impact, inspiring one another.

As a result of our platform services, Moment Energy engaged 90% of their team through volunteering and in-kind donations.

Giving Days

Women+ ERG Raise Period Poverty Awareness

Moment Energy’s Women+, a women-led employee resource group (ERG), came together with the rest of the team for a giving day in light of International Women’s Day. While learning about the stark reality of period poverty, the team celebrated this important day by assembling period care kits for survivors of domestic violence supported by the non-profit Atira’s Women Society. Atira is a women’s resource society dedicated to ending violence against women in BC through a number of initiatives such as programs around  housing, education, employment, family care, and many more.

Through this event, the Women+ team were able to spend a day of giving that perfectly aligned with their mission and values.

Rescued Food for BC Families

The team helped package food to provide B.C. families with rescued groceries over the holidays through the Food Stash Foundation, a non-profit located in Vancouver, BC aimed at reducing food waste and providing dignified access to food for those in need.

Impact Summary

“We loved the ability to learn about period poverty and then make a direct community impact. Our giving days were top-notch and inspiring.”
